BELFAST: AN INTRODUCTION

Whether it’s top restaurants, amazing shopping, beautiful architecture, natural wonders, rolling hills, world class golfing, top flight professional sports, strolling along the shoreline or just relaxing with friends and family over a good pint, Northern Ireland has it all for you.

Belfast is a very compact downtown making getting around the city a breeze since everything is only a few minutes walk away.  The hip new downtown area known as the Cathedral Quarter includes the most exclusive hotel in the city, the 5 star Merchant Hotel which boasts a long list of exclusive guests including a Holywood A Listers and most recently (May 2008) Prince Charles and his wife Camilla. The entire Cathedral Quarter is filled with cool pubs, great restaurants and upbeat clubs. 

Belfast is also home to the brand new Victoria Square Shopping Complex that was completed and opened in April 2008.  It is a massive 800,000 square feet complex that brings many of the top class brands to Northern Ireland for the first time.  Victoria Square is expected to have over 17 million visitors this year alone and is another impressive new building to add to the Belfast skyline. 

The main shopping area is on Royal Avenue which is straight down from the impressive city hall and is filled with all your London High Street Shops.  The best part about any attraction in downtown Belfast is that they are all connected and within a five-minute walk.
